The challenge

Coil and valve springs were failing fatigue endurance tests 18–22% below the required cycle count. The existing mixed media produced inconsistent Almen intensity, leaving compressive-stress coverage out of specification.

The solution

Replaced the worn mixed media with uniformly conditioned cut wire shot (CW-0.8) and re-established a stable operating mix with a documented Almen control plan, bringing intensity variance within ±0.001A.

The challenge

Steel plate destined for high-build epoxy coating needed consistent near-white blast and a deep, uniform anchor profile to guarantee long-term adhesion in seawater service. Two-pass blasting was slowing the plate line.

The solution

Specified GL-G25 medium-hard angular grit and worked with the blasting crew to optimise blast pressure and dwell time, eliminating the second pass while meeting the 75–100 µm profile requirement.

The challenge

Fatigue-critical landing-gear components required a fully documented peening process with certified media traceability for airworthiness sign-off. Existing cast shot had lot-to-lot hardness variation that failed the Almen repeatability audit.

The solution

Supplied certified stainless steel conditioned cut wire shot with full mill test certification per lot — including chemistry, hardness, microstructure, and sieve analysis — enabling complete traceability from media batch to finished component.
