Zinc Cut Wire Shot
A corrosion-resistant cut-wire peening and cleaning media engineered for delicate non-ferrous surfaces. Available in conditioned and unconditioned forms, Macloid Zinc Cut Wire Shot delivers controlled intensity on electronics, light alloys, and decorative components.
Precision Cut-Wire Zinc Media
Macloid Zinc Cut Wire Shot is manufactured by precision-cutting drawn zinc wire into uniform cylindrical pellets. In its unconditioned state the as-cut cylinders provide a sharper, more aggressive cleaning action, while the conditioned grade is mechanically rounded for low-intensity, controlled peening.
Because zinc is naturally corrosion-resistant and softer than steel, it is ideally suited to non-ferrous and decorative substrates that must not be contaminated with iron or excessively work-hardened. The tight size distribution of cut-wire media ensures repeatable, predictable peening intensity batch after batch.
The durable wire geometry resists fracturing, giving a long service life in enclosed cabinet and wheel blast systems. It is the media of choice for electronics housings, light-alloy peening, and satin decorative finishing.

Advantages
Corrosion Resistance
Zinc media is inherently corrosion-resistant and leaves no rust-inducing residue, protecting delicate non-ferrous and decorative surfaces.
Conditioned & Unconditioned
Available as as-cut cylinders or pre-conditioned rounded particles to suit either aggressive cleaning or controlled, low-Almen peening.
Gentle on Soft Substrates
Lower hardness than steel media makes it ideal for zinc, aluminium, magnesium, and brass parts that must not be work-hardened excessively.
Sacrificial Protection
Zinc transfer during impact provides a degree of galvanic protection on treated surfaces, beneficial for some decorative applications.
Uniform Particle Size
Precision cut-wire production ensures a tight size distribution and predictable, repeatable peening intensity.
Long Service Life
Cut-wire geometry resists fracturing far better than cast media, delivering many reuse cycles in enclosed systems.
